Pleteršnik home is located in Pišece, a settlement close to Bizeljsko and Brežice. Its importance is not in ethnological value and architectural heritage, but in Pleteršnik's memorial collection. Slovene linguist, author of Slovene-German dictionary, Maks Pleteršnik was born in the house in 1840 and died there in 1923. The home was thoroughly renovated in 1993 and 1994. It now has three rooms equipped with furniture and possessions of Maks Pleteršnik, and with his books. In the vineyard cottage, visitors can view or buy literature on Pleteršnik and tourist souvenirs. A stone pillar with his relief adorns the courtyard. Pleteršnik home is also on the list of Slovene museums and it is becoming the centre of cultural activities in Pišece. The home as a whole has been declared a cultural monument.
